Tom Smith is the Principal Cornet of the world famous British Open and Brass in Concert Champions, Brighouse and Rastrick. He is also a performing artist for both Besson and Denis Wick.

Brought up in Cornwall, Tom started playing cornet in The Camborne Junior Contesting Band under MD Alan Pope (BEM), where he stayed until leaving in 2018 to start his studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, under the tuition of Richard Marshall and Professor Roger Webster.

From 2016-2019, Tom played with the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain, where he moved his way up from 2nd cornet to assistant principal cornet. 

Tom graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in July 2022, and has recently been appointed as a brass tutor with Barnsley Music Hub.
