The Elgar International Brass Band Summer School (EIBBSS) announce their tutor team for 2024 and beyond. Led by Phillip Harper, EIBBSS announce the addition of “The voice of the Tenor Horn”, Sheona Wade to lead the Tenor Horn section and Lode Violet as co-tutor for the cornet section working alongside Foden’s Principal Cornet, Mark Wilkinson. Lode will need no introduction to many readers; he has led Brass Band Willebroek’s cornet section with distinction for a number of years. He currently teaches Brass, Ensemble & Conducting at the GO! Academy for Music and Drama Willebroek and since 2019 he is also affiliated with the Kunsthumaniora Brussel as a teacher for brass. In September 2020, he started as Saxhorn Teacher at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp.

Carole Crompton (Course Director) commented; “EIBBSS are at the forefront in developing new initiatives and with the appointment of Phillip Harper as Artistic Director in 2023 and the addition of Sheona and Lode for 2024 we are confident that our team of tutors can offer our delegates an enjoyable and rewarding week”. Also, the course is pleased to supplement the full-time tutors with two well respected brass players namely Adam Bokaris (Principal Euphonium, Black Dyke Band) and Harry Cunningham (ex-Tuba Black Dyke Band and freelance).

Phillip Harper (Artistic Director) remarked, “The EIBBSS tutor team includes players from the top echelons of the brass band movement, offering their immense experience on all instruments. Delegates will be thrilled to meet their respective tutors and enjoy the challenges that the music presents.”

The EIBBSS takes place at Bromsgrove School from Sunday 21^st July to Friday 26^th July 2024 and is a week of intense music making including sectional and full band rehearsals, individual lessons, tutor concert, delegates showcase, and two concert performances.
